About the project

Sphere:
charitable foundation
Type:

Task

Doing Good is a charitable foundation that helps people who find themselves in a difficult life situation. The organization is engaged in social support, humanitarian assistance and the development of charitable initiatives.

The Foundation needed a modern website that:

  • inspires confidence
  • clearly describes the activities of the organization
  • It helps to accept appeals and donations.
  • it works correctly on mobile devices
  • allows the team to update the content independently

Before the start of the project, the foundation already had a website, but it did not solve the key tasks.:

  • the interface looked outdated
  • the structure was awkward
  • It was difficult to take in the information
  • there was no modern UX
  • the site did not work well as a trust tool
  • there was no convenient system for interacting with the audience and making donations

Why is it free

We implemented this project for free simply because we consider it important to help such initiatives with our expertise.

For charities, a good website is not an add—on, but a full-fledged working tool.:

  • communications
  • trust
  • transparency
  • interactions with people

Not every fund has the opportunity to invest large budgets in digital infrastructure, so we take some of these projects pro bono.

What was done

Structure and UX design. The work began with the redesign of the site structure:

  • simplified navigation
  • redistributed information blocks
  • we have made the presentation of information more understandable
  • reduced the user’s path to key actions
  • improved the perception of content on mobile devices

The main task is to make the website as simple and understandable as possible for any audience.

Design. A special emphasis was placed on visual trust:

  • a calm color palette
  • clean interface
  • neat typography
  • adaptive design
  • clear visual hierarchy

For social projects, it is very important not to overload the user with the interface and not turn the site into a «reporting portal». Therefore, the design was built around simplicity and an emotionally understandable presentation.

WordPress development

WordPress was chosen as the platform, which allowed:

  • quickly launch the project
  • simplify further support
  • to give the foundation the opportunity to update the materials independently
  • avoid complex technical infrastructure

As part of the development, the following were implemented:

  • adaptive layout
  • landing on the CMS
  • feedback forms
  • SEO optimization
  • configuring the page structure
  • basic technical optimization
  • training the team to work with the admin panel

The content was fully prepared by the foundation, and our task was to turn it into an understandable and modern digital platform.

What was the most important thing

For charities, a website is primarily a matter of trust.

Therefore, during the development, we focused on:

  • transparency
  • the simplicity of the interface
  • interaction rates
  • the convenience of sending requests
  • adaptability
  • emotionally comfortable presentation

The user must understand quickly:

  • What does the foundation do?
  • who does it help
  • how can I contact or support the project

Result

After the launch, the foundation received:

  • a full-fledged modern website
  • a convenient content management system
  • a platform for interacting with the audience
  • more professional online presentation
  • It is easier to accept appeals and donations.

Additionally:

  • it became easier for the team to update the site
  • The online perception of the foundation has improved
  • The level of trust in the organization has increased
  • The website has become a full-fledged digital tool, not just an information page.

This project is an example of how even a relatively small website can significantly affect the perception of a charitable organization.
