Humaneed — free website development
for an animal welfare project
About the project
Task
The project needed a full-fledged digital platform that:
- clearly talks about the organization’s activities
- inspires confidence
- helps to build communication with the audience
- allows you to publish information centrally
- makes the project visually modern and professional
Before the start of work, the project did not have a full-fledged website.
The development was carried out free of charge as part of the Doblab 2025 social initiative, which creates websites for NGOs and charity projects.
The main goal was not just to create a website, but to create an understandable and trusting digital space for the project.
It was important:
- carefully present the topic of helping animals
- avoid visual overload
- make the interface emotionally understandable
- Provide convenience on mobile devices
- create a structure that the team can maintain independently
Design and UX
At the start, we worked out the site structure and user scenarios.
The main focus was on:
- ease of navigation
- readability of the content
- emotional presentation
- the logical structure of the pages
- the convenience of interacting with the project
For social projects, it is especially important that the user does not get «lost» inside the interface and quickly understands:
- What does the organization do?
- who does it help
- how can we support the initiative
Design
The interface was developed in Figma from scratch.
- The visual concept was built around:
- a calm color palette
- a minimalistic interface
- large visual accents
- adaptive grid
- a modern and «humane» visual language
In such projects, design is not a decorative part, but a tool of trust.
It was important to maintain a balance between emotionality and accurate presentation of information.
WordPress development
WordPress was chosen as the platform.
This solution allowed:
- launch the project quickly
- provide convenient content management
- minimize further fund costs
- give the team the opportunity to update the site on their own
As part of the development, the following were implemented:
- adaptive layout
- SEO-basic optimization
- feedback forms
- configuring the page structure
- optimizing user scenarios
- the administrative part for content management

Team training
After the launch, we:
- we showed the team how to work with the website.
- explained the process of updating the content
- We have prepared basic instructions
For NGOs, it is especially important that the site does not depend on the constant involvement of developers and can develop within the organization itself.
What was the most important thing
In social projects, technology is not the main part of the product.
The key role here is played by:
- trust
- transparency
- Ease of interaction
- emotionally correct presentation
- adaptability
- clear structure
The whole project was based on these principles.
Why is it free
This project was created as part of Doblab 2025— an initiative for the free development of websites for NGOs and social projects.
For us, this is not a story about «charity marketing.»
This is a way to help organizations that do important things, but do not always have the resources for a high-quality digital infrastructure.
That is why we take on some of these projects pro bono.
Result
After launching, Humaneed received:
- a full-fledged modern website
- a centralized digital platform
- professional visual representation of the project
- a convenient content management system
- adaptive interface for mobile devices
- the basis for further development of the initiative
The website helped the project move from fragmented communication to a full-fledged presence in the digital environment.
